Subject: Lots of Negativity....
I know Dank is entitled to his/her opinion about a particular show, set list, ect. However, I really can't fathom how someone would think that these guys aren't talented musicians.

For example, when a musician switches from a five string mando to violin and back again in the same song usually indicates that person might be able to play a little.

Like with food, there is no substitute for quality of ingredients, tastes will always vary in the way of preparation. Think of a set list like preparation.

I saw my first SCI show seven years ago and I've been a huge fan ever since. I will have to say that these guys are some of the finest musicians I have ever seen. Sure there is always room for improvement, but music is a never ending quest. I have never met am musician that was ever satisfied with their skills. ~Willy

Subject: Music's great, Sound is ok, Setlist is all screwy
I'm new to SCI and really am loving the music. This is the first show I've downloaded of theirs, but I'm dissapointed that their is so much bass throughout the show that I can't seem t get out with EQ. And, the setlist - whew - being a new fan, half the time I don't know what song I'm listening to! Well, anyway, enjoy!

Subject: Okay
This show was pretty good. Some great jams and excellent choice in covers. Sound quality is average, nothing to write home about. Gets 4 stars.

However, whoever uploaded this must not be a Pink Floyd fan. Where it says "Time" is being played is just the first half of Time. The next track, "Breathe > Jam" is the second half of Time plus the Breathe Reprise (which is technically part of Time too). Sorry to nitpick, it's just what I noticed

I'd just assume throw away the covers. SCI's tunes are just wonderful. This show like so very many others just friggin' jams so beautifully. Sound quality here is okay not spectacular. I'll give the performance six stars, sound four, average five. And I agree, let folks crap on it all they want if that's how they feel, I wouldn't want them at a show with us anyway.

i like these guys choices in cover songs...
however, i feel like i'm waiting the whole show for the band to get off, jam harder, to take it out so to speak. it feels like that Live too, to me at least.
Definitely not unpleasant to listen to though, i personally just need a little more intensity in my music.
didn't shout for joy, but didn't vomit on the floor either after listening.

Subject: don't waste your energy
I'm not familiar wit SIC, but am downloading this show right now. I saw some Dead shows here, so besides being named after Bill, it's got some good energy. Since SIC plays improvisational type
music well suited for when Uncle Cid comes by (so I'm told), and seein' all the freaks outside the Warfield last July, I'm intrigued.
Don't waste your time responding to some idiot that disses bands like this, instead pity them for their ignorance only because they don't get it and hopefully never will because you don't want your scene to get out of hand like the Dead's did after '87. When you hear someone dissin' your band, be glad you can still see them at a place like the Warfield or the Fillmore in Denver, and that those who would only go to the show to get drunk and puke on someones clothes already colorful enough, aren't there to be a bummer for those representin'. With that in mind, nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile....
Gave five stars even though I've not heard it because I"ll take y'alls word for it. Peace...

Great show!i enjoyed everything about the show, especially the keller. Hey dankimusbud, have you heard much stringcheese? i don't believe you have, cause you don't know exactly what you are talking about, this show is very good. you have no right to call these guys mediocre musicians. I haven't heard any dankimusbud tunes lately either, so please refrain from speaking if you don't know what you are talking about

Subject: Great Show(s), Bad Reviews
It's one thing to dislike a show and post a review that reflects why you think that the show/recording is bad (that is more than welcome in my opinion, constructive feedback benefits all of us archive users). However, to post two identical, insipid reviews is just childish. Please refrain from doing so in the future.

Subject: Weak songs, Narrow sounds
Leave it to the lightweight hoopin fairies to once again play horrible covers of horrible songs. They sound more like The Cream Cheese Accident. The only positive moments to this show was the addition of Keller Williams. At least he has talent and can sing, unlike the rest of the mediocre musicians on the stage. This show was billed as "The Time Travelers Ball". Someone should go back in time and stop this band from ever forming.

Subject: AMAZING
I attended all three days of Cheese's New Years Extravaganza. It was the most AMAZING three days of my life. This show in particular is awesome. They had an amazing guest (K. Dub) and put on an awesome show. I was reading a few other of the reviews and I know that everyone who did not like this show is retarded.
Not only was this the most energetic show I have ever been to, but it also had the most amazing vide. Cheese managed to keep me completely enthralled but they kept me dancing like a mad man all night long.
I think it is propostorous that someone would ever say that cheese should not have formed. They are the greatest musicians I have ever heard. They are perfect together. I don't think any band EVER is better than Cheese. This show gets five stars. If I could give it a 100 stars I would.
I can't imagine how someone can write such a negative review about SCI. Oh WideSpreadEric I don't think that Widespread will ever compare to SCI. Widespread is boring, lacks musical ability and needs to go back to their high school bands to relearn how to play an insturment.

peace,
Tyler

Subject: sci thoughts...
I'm writing this blurb in reaction to some of the "weak" reviews left by other users here at archive.org.

Someone suggested going back in time to prevent SCI from even forming. What the heck? Yes it's true, SCI band members are not the MOST talented individuals ever (kang is no garcia). But who cares! I feel that important issue is the class that this band has. There is always a warm feeling of positivity at an Incident. A person doesn't always get that feeling at say...a Phish show for example. Lot's of ego there. So more power to SCI! Gonna see some good times, gonna see some bad!

I will give this show a 3. One of the reasons is that i saw the NYE 01-02 show and the energy level was a lot more intense a year ago.

Peace!

Subject: The Cheese has done it again!!!
I don't know how many of you out there were fortunate enough to attend this one, but man did the shit go down in SanFrancisco that night. I attended the SuperHero's Ball the previous year and thought there was no way they could ever top that. But they definitely put on a totally different show with the same magic they captured last year. ACTIVATE YOUR BEACONS!!!! I mean WOW! Anyone who was there knows what I'm talking about. Unfortunately you only get half the effect by just listening to the disc, but Peak Experiences definitely pushes the limits of reality and makes the New Years experience with the Cheese so special. Great show and good sound. I'd give the live show 5 stars, but the discs dont quite capture it all. peace

Weak, boring jams, just like everything they have done since spring '02. Covers are fair. Keller portions are ok. Not worth the HD space, IMHO.
